The Society of Licensed Conveyancers
The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) -The Home of Property Lawyers and Probate Practitioners.
The SLC was established in February 1988 to act as the professional body to represent the interests of Licensed Conveyancers in England and Wales.
It is independent of, but maintains good relations with the Council of Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) and is governed by an elected board of Directors.
In 2013, the SLC decided to open up its membership to Solicitors and Legal Executives who can join as Associates and enjoy all the benefits of membership.
Over recent years the SLC has undergone a transformation to focus on the needs of all property lawyers and its members in particular. As a result, it has introduced a number of new member benefits. These benefits more than cover the cost of Society membership. Our Annual Conference has become the `must attend` event in the conveyancing calendar with a variety of high-profile speakers on a range of topical subjects. The event, hosted in recent years by Kate Faulkner the property journalist who frequently appears on TV, attracts over 200 delegates and like all our events, is free to members to attend.
We welcome all property lawyers into membership including Licensed Conveyancers, Probate Practitioners, Solicitors and Legal Executives.
